Scope of responsibilities:
Position will act as a Service Manager/mentor for EBRT in technical areas. Serve as first point of contact for 2nd tier problem resolution and escalations from TechMahindra and clients and provide on-call assistance. The person will interface with 3rd tier organizations on enterprise backup issues & solutions and will be in the on-call rotation. About 95% of the work is with NetBackup.(Project Management: i.e. better documentation, access to documentation, better ways to handle the work for contractors, etc.)
The team supports over 30,000 clients, various levels of NBU (NetBackup), new tools coming online, processes to be developed and tremendous growth of the infrastructure and clients.
Key responsibilities:
• Serve as first point of contact for 2nd tier problem resolution and escalations for NetBAckup and Avamar
• Interface with 3rd tier organizations on enterprise backup issues & solutions
• Oversight for vendor personnel, including access, metrics, AOTS ticket review, time recording, reports, etc.
• Leading projects within the team for Future Mode of Operations, including writing documentation training, etc. and will represent the team on projects that involve Event Management (projects would/could include standardization of best practices, document repository, developing metrics, automation)
• Prepare supporting documentation and/or reports on issues or requests
• 1st tier support of secure network clients on NetBackup
• Develop best practices, policies and standards
• Serve as first point of contact from vendor on problems/issues in the NetBackup environment
• Identify areas of improvement, additional training opportunities, or gaps in team knowledge
Education: University Degree in Computer & Information Science or related discipline
Language skills: Excellent communication (written & spoken) in English
Working hours: US time ( 2 pm – 11 pm)

• Have a thorough understanding, knowledge and usage of NetBackup 5.1 to 7.x including policies, scheduling, restores and differences between the versions.
• 3 years of NetBackup experience
• Must have strong project management skills
• Experience with leading teams/projects
• Organizational skills
• Ability to adapt and change to meet the needs of clients

• Scripting
• NetBackup with Window master server
• Database
• Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and Avamar are desired
• Tivoli Workload Scheduler
